Get a `*.linkfor.xyz` subdomain
Free tier walkthrough — sign up, create a site, attach a subdomain mount, point it at a Notion page.
Every Linkfor account ships with one free site on a *.linkfor.xyz
subdomain. No credit card, no domain to register, no DNS to fight.
This page walks the full flow end-to-end. If you want a custom domain
instead, jump to Connect a custom domain.
1. Sign up
Open app.linkfor.xyz/sign-up and create an account with email +
password, or continue with Google or GitHub. Email accounts get a
verification link — click it to unlock the dashboard.
2. Create a site
From the empty sites list, click Create site. Give it a name
(this is private — only visible inside your dashboard) and submit.
You can rename it later from Settings → General.
A site is a container for routes; it doesn't go live until you attach a host (the next step) and at least one route.
3. Attach a subdomain mount
Open the site's Mounts tab and click Add a mount. In the host
field, type the subdomain you want — for example acme. The full
hostname will be acme.linkfor.xyz. Leave the mount path as /
unless you want the site to live under a sub-path like /blog.
Subdomain mounts go live as soon as you click Add mount —
there's no DNS to configure, the wildcard *.linkfor.xyz record
already points at us. You should see the mount flip to active
within a second.
4. Add a Notion route
From the site's Routes tab, click Add route under root. Pick
type notion, paste a Notion page ID or URL (see
Publishing from Notion for how to make a page
public first), and save. The path stays empty for the site root.
Visit https://<your-subdomain>.linkfor.xyz and your Notion page
renders within a second.
What's included on the free tier
| Feature | Free |
|---|---|
| Sites | 1 |
| Mounts | 2 |
| Custom domain | No |
| Full Notion rendering engine | Yes |
| SEO metadata + sitemap | Yes |
| Per-path analytics (30 days) | Yes |
| Linkfor footer branding | Yes |
The free tier is intentionally usable on its own — every renderer
feature is enabled, and the only Pro-tier upsell that affects what
visitors see is the Powered by Linkfor footer line. Upgrade to
Pro when you want a custom domain or a second site.
Troubleshooting
The subdomain says "No site here — yet" — the mount didn't bind.
Refresh the dashboard, confirm the mount status pill says active,
then reload the public URL.
The page renders but looks unstyled — your browser may have an extension blocking the Notion CSS. Try an incognito window.
You hit the mount limit — free tier caps at 2 mounts. Either
remove an existing mount (Mounts → Remove) or upgrade to Pro for 3.
